Applications and Areas of Use
Graepel grating is used wherever safe access and stability are required.
It serves as work platforms, access elements, maintenance walkways, or walking surfaces—for example, on tank trailers, trailers, construction machinery, or in plant engineering.
The basis consists of profiled sheet metal gratings, which provide slip-resistant surfaces and high rigidity through targeted embossing and perforation.
This results in gratings that offer a secure footing even in wet conditions, on oil, ice, or dirt, and reliably withstand loads for years.
Graepel supplies both individual elements for further processing and complete assemblies, fully assembled for immediate installation.
Technical Design and Engineering
As a development partner, Graepel supports its customers far beyond the manufacturing stage.
Our engineers assist with technical design, the selection of suitable profile types, and the optimal fastening solutions.
Through calculations, simulations, and practical testing, we create walkways that are precisely tailored to the load, location, and safety requirements.
In close cooperation with vehicle and equipment manufacturers, Graepel develops customized solutions that combine functionality, cost-effectiveness, and ease of installation.
Engineering that makes safety predictable.
Benefits and Technical Features
- Slip-resistant surface thanks to embossed or perforated sheet metal grating
- High load-bearing capacity with low weight
- Customized technical design by Graepel Engineering
- Weather- and corrosion-resistant materials for indoor and outdoor use
- Modular design: available as individual parts or pre-assembled units
- Compatible fastening systems for quick installation and secure hold
Materials and Construction
The foundation of every walkway grating is formed by high-quality profiled sheet metal gratings, which Graepel manufactures through precise forming, punching, and profiling.
The following options are available:
- Galvanized steel: robust and economical, suitable for universal use
- Stainless steel: corrosion-resistant, hygienic, and durable
- Aluminum: lightweight, dimensionally stable, and ideal for mobile applications
Depending on the intended use, the shape, perforation, and structure are adapted to optimally combine drainage, slip resistance, and load-bearing capacity. Upon request, Graepel supplies fully pre-assembled walkways, including brackets, handrails, or tread plates.
Quality and Manufacturing
Graepel manufactures walkway gratings on state-of-the-art profiling, punching, and forming equipment with the highest level of dimensional accuracy.
Every component is tested for load-bearing capacity, dimensional accuracy, and slip resistance.
Production is carried out in accordance with ISO 9001 and ISO 14001—combined with over 130 years of experience in metalworking and perforation technology.
