Sustainability at Graepel

Goal 3: Good Health and Well-being
At Graepel, we support this goal through health promotion initiatives, such as BEM consultations at our German locations and occupational safety measures. Our focus is on reducing the smoking rate, lowering the obesity rate, preventing or reducing emissions of air pollutants, and ensuring compliance with the guideline value for particulate matter exposure.

Goal 4: High-Quality Education
At Graepel, this translates into: on-the-job training for apprentices at our German locations, a variety of training opportunities—including dual study programs—support for lifelong learning and opportunities for advanced professional development, and financial support for various schools in the local communities.

Goal 5: Gender Equality
At Graepel, we are committed to gender equality. Our employees receive equal pay for the same or equivalent work—regardless of gender. In addition, our compliance guidelines, internal Code of Conduct, and Code of Conduct for Business Partners, as well as preventive measures implemented by our anti-discrimination officers, all contribute to this goal.

Goal 6: Clean Water and Sanitation
At Graepel, we support this goal by implementing new technologies, such as the water pretreatment system and the state-of-the-art oil separator at GOKG, and through our guidelines on occupational health and safety, environmental protection, and climate protection.

Goal 7: Affordable and Clean Energy 
At Graepel, we generate part of the energy we need using our own PV systems at locations in India, Hungary, and Germany: At GPI, the PV system covered approximately 18% of GPI’s total energy consumption in 2024 and 24.61% in 2025. At GLKG, the PV system covered 4.5% of GLKG’s total energy consumption in 2024 and 8.32% in 2025. At KFT, a new PV system was commissioned in 2025, covering 36.79% of the site’s total energy consumption.

Goal 12: Sustainable Consumption and Production
At Graepel, we rely on the processing of aluminum and steel. Nevertheless, we promote sustainable production by using high-quality materials with a high proportion of recycled content. Through our waste management system, we ensure that waste is minimized and the proportion of recycled materials in our raw and secondary materials is increased.

Goal 13: Climate Protection Measures
At Graepel, we support this goal by preparing our company-wide carbon footprint assessment and setting GHG reduction targets based on it, along with measures such as energy savings achieved by switching to electric vehicles and LED lighting at our German locations, our PV systems, and our environmental and energy certifications under ISO 14001 and 50001.

Goal 15: Life on Land
At Graepel, we contribute to this goal through our projects to promote biodiversity by planting wildflower meadows and installing nesting aids and insect hotels.
