As part of ensuring equal participation for all people in daily life, websites should also be accessible to people with disabilities without the need for assistance. Although our company is not legally required to do so due to its business focus on the B2B market, we are committed to making this website accessible and designing it in accordance with Directive (EU) 2016/2102 of the European Parliament and of the Council on the accessibility of websites and mobile applications, as well as the relevant published harmonized standards (EN 301 549) or applicable parts of the standards in their currently valid versions.

This accessibility statement applies to the Graepel AG website at the address “https://www.graepel.de/” in both desktop and mobile views, including its respective subpages, but does not apply to other websites linked within this website.

Status of compliance with the requirements for accessible information technology:

This website is based on the TYPO3 Bootstrap package, which was tested on August 29, 2023, by the BIK testing agency and found to be officially accessible in accordance with the WCAG 2.1 standard and EN 301 549. The assessment of compliance with accessibility requirements is based on a self-assessment conducted in accordance with the underlying legal provisions and guidelines mentioned above, as well as guidelines derived from them (primarily the BITV self-assessment via the BIK für Alle project (bik-fuer-alle.de) as well as online tests using LERA and the Mozilla Developer Tools (Accessibility features). LERA (https://advancedbytez.com/lera/) is an automated, web-based tool for accessibility testing and reporting and has successfully tested the site against the success criteria of WCAG 2.1 Levels A and AA. Mozilla is the publisher of the Firefox web browser and offers integrated tools for web developers (https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/accessibility-features-firefox)

With the ability to navigate the website using a keyboard, adjust font sizes and contrast settings, a text-to-speech function, a clear structure, and the special design of the content and files provided, this website meets a large portion of the requirements for perceivability, operability, understandability, and robustness. However, it is not entirely possible to translate content that goes beyond brief bullet points or links to files and websites into “easy-to-read language” and/or “simple language,” which is why this website is not yet fully compliant with accessibility guidelines. However, we are working step by step to translate the editorial content into both “easy language” (where possible) and other languages in order to enable people with limited German language skills to participate as fully as possible.

Non-accessible content and explanation:

The current state of technology does not (yet) allow for a fully accessible design. We are continuously working to improve the site’s accessibility within the limits of what is possible. For example, new PDF files uploaded to the site almost fully meet accessibility requirements. Unfortunately, for older data (archives), accessibility cannot be met—or can only be partially met—due to the time at which they were created. We would also like to make content that is not immediately accessible available to everyone and are therefore happy to provide an alternative option if needed. If not every section of the website can be reached using the keyboard functions [TAB key + actions] or if the functionality for a screen reader or other assistive technologies is sometimes unacceptable, we appreciate your feedback and will review all complaints. The launch of this new version of the website may initially require some necessary corrections, which we will work to resolve as soon as possible once they are identified.
